UUID / GUID Generator

Generate cryptographically random UUID v4 (GUID) values, one at a time or in bulk.

What is a UUID?

A UUID (Universally Unique Identifier), also called a GUID, is a 128-bit value used to identify records, sessions or objects without a central authority handing out sequential numbers. This generator produces version 4 UUIDs, which are built from random bits.

Generated locally, with cryptographic randomness

Every value comes from the browser's native crypto.randomUUID() API. Nothing is sent to a server, and no two runs produce the same identifier.

Frequently asked questions

How likely is a duplicate UUID v4?

With 122 random bits, the chance of ever generating a duplicate is astronomically small — effectively negligible for any practical use.

Can I generate UUIDs without hyphens?

Yes, toggle "Include hyphens" off to get a compact 32-character hexadecimal string.

Are these UUIDs safe to use as security tokens?

UUID v4 values are unpredictable enough for identifiers, but for authentication tokens or secrets, prefer a purpose-built token generator.
